I recently came across Nick Robinson’s origami manta ray on another origami site and, since we work together regularly, I asked him if they had requested permission to share it.

They hadn’t.

Sadly, that’s still very common in the origami world.

So even though this model isn’t the very easiest, I really wanted to publish it on our site properly, where Nick is credited and receives a commission from the revenue it generates. We’re proud to help support artists this way.

It also happens to be one of my favorite models from Nick. The folding sequence is very pleasant and approachable, and the final shape feels fluid and lifelike.
